| FEEL´N BETTER ALREADY!!!!!
Well, after single-handedly taking on a MOVING VEHICLE...........and losing, I suffered a few minor bumps and bruises. Nothin to write home about....even though I´m doing it now!!! I wore this beautiful, hand-nitted, velcro-strapped sling for 2 weeks, which made typing twice as difficult, hense the reason i haven´t written. After those two weeks or so, I am feeling 99% better. These two Chilean compadres are Fernando and Ricardo ( like Chile´s version of "BURT AND ERNIE"), whom I´ve never seen apart from one another. You can probably guess what our common interest is!! We just talk about Metal....i don´t think our comversations have gotten any deeper than that...and i hope they never do!! | | |
| Pichilemu is about 3 hours south of SANTIAGO. The waves here break off some rocks at the southern tip of the concaved coastline, causing the waves to trickle down parallel along the coast. There are about four or five different breaks you can catch along the rocks. I rented a board, wetsuit and booties for$6,000 CLP ($16.00 US, approx.)for the whole day, and went out Saturday morning. A New Zealand lad who paddled out with me said " today is definitely the biggest of the past 4 days," as he strapped his HELMET on........."HOLY SHIT", I says to myself. It was about 10 <. I stayed with a Chilean woman (Rosie) and her boyfriend from Oregon (Anton.....who fulfills every surfer stereotype, BRAH) for Fri. and Sat. night at $10.00 US night. i had a two bedroom town house all to myself, and the beach was practically across the street. Pichilemu was like a fusion of Santa Cruz (Pine trees, COLD ASS water, and scary F-ing waves) and Mexico ( one paved road, small town , and empanadas everywhere). The picture of me, is at Punta de Lobos (1 1/2 mile south of PICHILEMU), which is almost an identical break, but BIGGER!! there is a picture of the point in my collection of photos.....the two huge rocks. here I met 3 Chilean surfers that are very eager to learn English.....so I think I´ll definietly being heading back down to these amazing spots again. CHAO!!!! | | |
| 10/14....i think. Tres hombres y una chica blanca. The hungry fella in red is Abraham , to his left, his girlfriend Nell, Ryan (from Portland, Oregon, just moved in this week), and some ugly, black-haired chick to the right! We introduced Ryan to Pisco (chilean liquor).....YIKES!! | | |
